Houston Audubon Society
Houston Audubon Society (HAS) is “spreading
its wings” a little closer into Houston.
Sims Bayou Urban Nature Center (SBUNC) will become the Nature Education
Center for Houston Audubon Society. They are excited to obtain this
facility to better reach more children and adults with their fun,
hands on Nature Education programs.
The SBUNC has a peaceful, country-like setting only minutes from
downtown Houston. Situated in historic Park Place on the original
channel of Sims Bayou, the Nature Center’s log cabin, barn,
100-year old wagon and gazebo give the property a rustic, homey
look. The vegetable and butterfly gardens, bird blind, ponds, and
wetland trails offer great opportunities to explore and experience
nature in an urban landscape.
