Troop #1232 cooked meals for the United Space Alliance Habitat for Humanity crew. The girls provided breakfast and lunch for the crew while showing off their camp cooking skills. Jerry Pfleeger, the director of Spaceflight Systems for United Space Alliance had these words to say, “I want to thank you and your troop for feeding our Habitat Team on Saturday. They have set a new standard. We have never eaten so well!”

Kaylen De., Stephanie M., Hannah P., Samatha Rodriguez, and Hannah L. volunteered and planned the Kids Zone for the United Way Community Music Fest. These first year Juniors all earned the Bronze Award.

Jaclyn M., from Eastern Horizon Service Unit received the Bronze Award. Jaclyn helped finance new Junior Troop #2094 in her service unit. The troop had formed too late to sell cookies and Jaclyn wanted them to be able to do program like she had enjoyed. She also helped at their rally with songs and games and did their investiture ceremony.

Michelle Chaney of Troop #12811 earned the Bronze Award by delivering her hand-sewn pillows and collected pet supplies and food donations to Special Pals Animal Shelter.

Beaumont Housing Authority Groups in Beaumont have been busy working on a four-month service project. The girls decided they would adopt two elderly public housing sites and keep them clean and beautiful. The residents at Lucas Gardens and Grand Pines Court Apartments have enjoyed the girls visiting their sites. The girls have spent several Saturdays cleaning the grounds and beautifying the gardens. They girls picked up bags and bags of trash, cleaned out the flower beds, and brought smiles to the residents. Bernadette Frank, Rebecca Powell, and Outreach Membership Manager Gloria Gracia-Johnson have enjoyed watching the girls participate in this extended service project. It has been exciting watching the girls give their time to help others and interact with the elderly residents. Several of the residents have come outside their apartments to thank the girls and chat with them as they clean up the grounds. We have also received calls (from residents) at the Beaumont Office telling us how proud they are of the girls and that they look forward to the next clean up day.
