Girl Scouts = Mad Scientists?

“Edu-tainment,” Mad Science sparks the imagination and curiosity of children everywhere by providing fun, entertaining and exciting activities to instill a clearer understanding of what science is really about and how it affects the world around them. Join girls in a special hour long Mad Science Workshop while earning GSUSA awards!

What: Girls complete requirements for GSUSA awards
Who:
GSSJC
registered Brownies or Juniors
Safety-wise ratio of adults stay, absolutely no tagalongs
Where: Girl Scout Center, 3110 Southwest Freeway, Houston
When:
Sunday afternoons: Select either a 2 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. workshop
Workshop lasts around 60 minutes.

November 20
Brownies:  Space Explorer
Juniors: Oil Up

December 18
Brownies:  Movers
Juniors:  Aerospace

January 15
Brownies:  Science Wonders
Juniors:  Rocks Rock

February 19
Brownies:  Science in Action
Juniors:  Weather Watch

Bring:
Completed permission slip (GSSJC form F-204) for each girl*, completed medical form (GSSJC form F- 185) for each girl*, completed dult emergency form (GSSJC form F-22)* for adults, girls wear their uniform or troop T-shirt, if available. Troop first aid kit (troop adult serves troop girls as first aider at event) *Remains with troop leader

Cost: $10/girl; Safety-wise ratio of adult leaders/volunteers free and must stay

meet certain GSUSA recognition requirements related to exploring careers at the same time!

Want to help plan the event?

If you are interested in earning leadership and service hours and some requirements for the career award by serving on a Council Girl Planning Board (GPB) complete the GPB application located on the Council Web site.

GPB meets at the Girl Scout Center, 2-4 p.m. on the third Sunday of the month. See August CIN flyer for details!
