GSUSA’s
Girl Leadership Project Counselor-In-Training (CIT) encompasses
12 hours of core training, followed by an optional week of
internship in either the day camp or resident camp setting.
During the weekend training, girls will participate in learning/activity
sessions conducted by certified Council Trainers on: personality
identification, Girl Scout principles in the resident camp
environment, personal leadership styles, resident camp structure,
camper discipline and anger management, expectations for CIT’s,
acceptance of diversity, safety guidelines and awareness,
camper age characteristics, effective listening techniques,
how to teach an activity, and outdoor skills.
At the end of the weekend, each girl receives the prestigious
GSUSA
CIT pin.
