Badge Events and Workshops

Junior Badge Workshop
Hosted by the Rice University Earth Science Department

Who: GSSJC registered Juniors, Safety-wise ratio of adult leaders/volunteers, no tagalongs

What: Girls complete requirements for Rocks Rock Badge

When: Saturday, November 5

Check in: 9 a.m.

Event: 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

Where: Rice University Geology Department (map and directions will be sent with confirmation letter)

Cost: $5/girl, Safety-wise ratio of adult leaders/volunteers free

Bring: Completed Rice University press release (with confirmation letter), permission slip for each girl,* medical form for each girl, * adult emergency form for adults, first aid kit (troop adult serves troop girls as first aider at event) *Remains with troop leader

Wear: Girls wear their uniform or troop T-shirt, if available.

Note: Lunches, drinks, snacks – please put all troop food in one box, no coolers available due to event size

Earned award workshops at Museum of Health and Medical Science

The JP McGovern Museum of Health and Medical Science is offering workshops for Brownie, Junior, and Girl Scouts ages 11-17. Safety-Wise ratio of adults (attend free) must attend with girls.

Who: Juniors and Safety-Wise ratio of adults

What: Earn requirements for the Junior Let’s Get Cooking Badge

When: By appointment on Saturday mornings Second Saturday 10-11:30 a.m.

Where: Bennigan’s on Kirby at Highway 59, Houston
