Rookie Cookie Training

Who Must Attend

New troop cookie managers are required to attend training. New troop cookie managers are defined as anyone who has never been a troop cookie manager or has not been a troop cookie manager for the last two years. You’ll find this all-new training practical, worthwhile, and motivating.

How to Register

Registration is required. To register for training via mail or fax, use the form below. Online registrations can be completed by accessing www.gssjc.org. Click on Trainings, and then click Offerings (courses are listed alphabetically). Click on Rookie Cookie Training, locate the desired date and time. Click Register when you have made your choice. Click Submit. You will receive an e-mail confirmation.

No walk-ins please!

Non-registered participants place a burden on other participants, the trainers and the training location. Trainers may be unable to provide materials for non-registered participants.

If you cannot attend, please call the Council office at
713-292-0239. You can leave a message 24 hours a day. By canceling in advance, you allow others to register for the training.

Children

This training is for grown-ups only! Childcare facilities are not available at course locations.

Volunteer Application and Criminal Background Authorization and Release

All new troop cookie managers are required to complete a Volunteer Application and Criminal Background Authorization and Release (GSSJC F-39). If you have not yet completed this form, bring the following with you:

  • Troop number and service unit name in which you are registered
  • Driver’s license and social security numbers
  • Names of two non-related people who will serve as references
  • Complete addresses, phone numbers and e-mail addresses for those references.
  • You can also download the form from the Web site and bring that completed form with you to the training.

Fun Cookie Materials

Everyone attending will have the option of purchasing cookie specialty items at the training: a cookie platter for $10, a tote bag for $7, and an “Ask Me About Girl Scout Cookies” sign for $2.
