Girl Scout trips are fun!

Cadette Girl Scout Troop #5095’s great eighth grade adventure

After lots of planning, fundraising, and researching, Cadette Troop #5095’s dream came true over Spring Break 2005 when 11
Girl Scouts and their moms flew to Washington D.C.! Some of the most memorable moments:

My favorite thing at Washington DC was the moonlight tour that was awesome seeing all the monuments in lights! – Jordan

My favorite memory was when we hadn’t eaten all day and we ate at the restaurant inside our hotel and the food was really bad and we all had the giggles! – Sarah

My favorite memory was watching George Bush’s helicopter land on the White House lawn! – Adrianne

It was a dark windy night, when we rode across Washington DC in a trolley. We visited many memorials, monuments and tourist attractions-Brrrr! It was chilly! – Brittany

Being met at the Pentagon by really big guns! – Jenna

When the beautiful snow fell on the ground! – Erin

My favorite memory was when we came out of the metro station and a big gust of wind blew and all of our umbrellas broke and we looked so ridiculous! – Melissa

When we went to tour the White House, we walked into the Green Room and it was snowing outside! We raced out of the White House to play in the snow! – Andrea

My favorite memory was almost getting smushed in the door of a metro and seeing the President’s helicopter! – Megan

The obvious highlights of the trip were meeting Congressman Culberson, going to the White House, Capitol and Pentagon, seeing all of the museums in Washington, and the hilarious and sweet images that will remain in my head forever. – Kristina

My favorite memory from Washington DC is when my mom and I waited outside for 30 minutes in the snow, freezing, and the President came by with tons of cars around him to protect him, and he came by and waved to everyone that was standing out there.
– Meagan

Midwest Madness 2005!

by Haley M., Senior Girl Scout

Photo of Haley M.Midwest Madness was a destinations trip to Wisconsin and Minnesota. We stayed in Wisconsin at a Girl Scout camp called Camp Ehawee. This was such a well-planned, well-put together trip. I would recommend it to all girls that just want to have a week of fun.
During the trip, we went on several mini trips. For example, the first day we were able to choose between three activities. I chose the water park Noah’s Ark. It was a blast. I also was able to go tour around downtown Lacrosse, do camp activities, go on the Windell boat tour, and go to the Wisconsin State Fair. This was just in Wisconsin. When we got to Minnesota, we went to the museum and the zoo. The next day we went to the Mall of America and to the musical Beauty and the Beast. We were busy the entire time during the destination. I would definitely recommend this destination. It was so much fun and I met many new people. I still talk to some them and I miss all of them. The staff was great and very organized. I cannot wait to get started on my application for the destination I want to go on this year.
