Badge Day
Junior Girl Scouts will complete six requirements of the
GSUSA
Theater Badge in one fun day! MASQUE, the resident acting/improvisational
troupe of EPISCOPAL HIGH SCHOOL will lead girls through exploring
and experiencing the excitement of theater! At the end of
the session, each girl will receive her Theater badge! Visit
the MASQUE web page.
Workshops include:
- Creating your own mask from felt, feathers, sequins,
and other fun materials
- Learning the art of stage make-up by applying it to yourself,
a mannequin, or a friend
- Watch an improvisation performance by MASQUE and meet
and discuss with the actors.
- Practice and perform a variety of pantomimes and improvisations
including mirror exercises, emotional expression, and impromptu
conversations.
Who: Juniors, Safety-Wise ratio of leaders
(No tagalongs please.)

When: Saturday, January 14; 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Cost: $12.50 per girl; includes workshops
and materials, snack, badge; Safety-Wise ratio of
leaders free and serve as troop first-aiders and for supervision

Backstage at CATS
What:
Girls earn requirements towards the Theater Junior
Girl Scout Badge or The Performing Arts Girl Scout
Interest Project. (Leaders purchase Girl Scout awards
at any Council Girl Scout Shop. Not provided by facilitator.)
Event includes tickets to the matinee performance and a
special morning workshop.
Workshop includes:
- a take-home makeup kit
- a lesson and hands-on demonstration of stage make- up
application
- a mini-backstage tour
- teaching girls the choreography to a CATS musical number
- girls perform in their stage make-up on Hobby Center’s
Sarofim Hall
- a Question and Answer session with some cast members
following the play.

or eat at a downtown restaurant. Participants may make SPECIAL
lunch reservations at selected downtown restaurants. Contact

Adults: Supervision is required. Participants
and chaperones must purchase tickets. Girl Scouts/families
who attend the show are on their own for lunch. There is no
Council adult supervision at the workshop or play.
