2006 Cookie Sale Activity

Explore! What's New with Cookies

Training

You may have heard that if you were a Troop Cookie Manager in the past two years, you don’t have to attend an in-person training. You are eligible to learn about the 2006 Cookie Sale in the comfort of your home! You do, however, have to register for the course before December 6. To do that, go online to gssjc.org and click on Training/Course Offerings. From the list, choose Cookie Training – Update (#5926). You will see that the training is listed as December 6 and the time is 8 a.m. Ignore the December 6 date/time. There is no in-person Update training. Your updated information will be mailed to you.

Cookie Volunteers Needed

The Council Cookie Committee is looking for volunteers to serve as a Cookie Cupboard. Cookie Cupboards are locations within the Council boundaries where full cases of cookies may be picked up by a Troop Cookie Manager (or her/his designee). You must be a registered adult Girl Scout and have completed a Volunteer Application and Criminal Background Authorization Release. Cookie Cupboards are located in the homes of the volunteers. If interested, contact D’Anne Hawk at 713-292-0234 or dhawk@sjgs.org.

Super Troop Bonus

This year’s Super Troop Bonus will be raised to $50. Any troop can be considered a Super Troop if they meet the following requirements:

  • All girls in the troop and the Troop Cookie Manager must be registered
  • Troop’s per girl average is 210 packages
  • All paperwork and Council deposit slips must be turned in to the Service Unit Cookie Manager by March 22, 2006
  • The troop must have no Uncollected Funds (T-3s)
  • The troop must conduct at least one cookie shop and submit a completed Cookie Shop Evaluation.

Cadette/Senior Bonus Option

Cadette or Senior troops may choose to take additional money per box instead of participating in the standard incentives program. To qualify for the option, all girls in the troop must agree unanimously to select this option, must sign a “Cadette/Senior Option” form and the form must accompany the troop’s initial order turned in to the Service Unit Cookie manager. This year’s bonus will be 63 cents per package or 18% of the selling price of a package.

Don’t forget to register for the Girl Scout Pep Rally with the Houston Aeros on January 21. Registration form is on the CIN.

Join the 1000 + Club Sign

Girls who sell 1,000 or more packages of cookies become a member of the “1000+ Club of cookie sellers. These girls will receive a special patch, will be recognized in The Golden Link, and will be invited to attend “Monkey Business,” a Cookie Celebration, to be held at the end of the cookie sale. All 1000+ girls’ names will be entered into a drawing for a giant “Cookie the Explorer” stuffed chimp.
