Fund Development
Supporters provide brighter futures for tomorrow’s leaders

The Fund Development/Brand Management Department solicits donations from corporations, foundations, and individuals to assure that Girl Scouting is available for all girls and to provide financial means for Girl Scout programs.
Supporters may honor others in Girl Scouting in several ways: donations to one of the Council’s many funds, an engraved brick on the Promise Path at Camp Agnes Arnold, or a plaque at Camp Casa Mare. Women may join The Emerald Circle, a social and service group, which supports Girl Scouting through its membership fees.
Donate on-line to any of the Council funds at www.gssjc.org.

Calling All Parents!
GSSJC’s Fund Development Department needs your help!

In three easy steps, you can help us make connections with corporations where our families work. We want to ask them to support Girl Scouting with a corporate gift to the Invest in a Better Future Capital and Endowment Campaign. Will you help?

Three Easy Steps:
1. Find out who the Community Relations Director or person in charge of donations is at your company.
2. Call Girl Scout volunteer Bud Simpson at 281-778-5199, or staff advisor Marianita Paddock at 713-292-0207.
3. Tell them what company you work for and who the Community Relations Director is. That’s it – you’re done!

What is the Invest in a Better Future Capital and Endowment Campaign?

GSSJC is raising $12 million to make six of our Girl Scout camps more exciting places for our girls. We have to turn away more than 4,300 girls from our camps each year due to lack of space, and the Invest in a Better Future Campaign will provide more cabin units, trails, lodges, and fishing piers for all of our girls to enjoy.

The campaign will also make it possible for the Council to hire a paid Sailing Director and Herds Manager, award five more college scholarships to Gold Award girls each year, and expand our Community Outreach Programs for inner city girls. All of this means more opportunities for girls – and for your daughter!

So far, we have raised $3.7 million, including a $1,000,000 lead gift from the Robert and Janice McNair Foundation. One hundred percent of GSSJC’s Board of Directors have contributed a total of $505,520 to the campaign, and 100% of the staff have contributed $83,035. With additional corporate support, we can raise enough to ask for large gifts from national donors.

It will take everyone in the community, including Girl Scout families and volunteers, to reach the goal. Together, we can build a better tomorrow for all our girls!
