GSSJC Pluralism Committee
Ervan Chew Award - 2005

Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council’s Pluralism Committee is requesting nominations for the annual Ervan Chew Award. The award is designed to recognize a Girl Scout volunteer(s) who has made a significant difference in the lives of the girls in a troop or service area. Identify a person who is an “Everyday Hero,” an individual who is committed to inclusiveness, mentoring girls and teaching them to live the Girl Scout Promise.
The award was established in honor of Ervan Chew who died at a very young age on January 19, 1999. Ervan was a board member of San Jacinto Council, a tireless volunteer, and civic leader. He was willing to give of himself for causes that he believed in. He was sought after by many people in the community and will always be remembered as someone who was willing to work hard to make his community a better place for all of us.
