2005 Early Bird registration incentives
have troops chirping

“The Early bird gets the worm,” the old adage says. But, GSSJC troops that early registered in the spring had an opportunity to get much more! Ten troop numbers were randomly selected in a drawing from all troops re-registering at least 80% of their membership by May 31. Those troops received a $20 Girl Scout Shop gift certificate.
More than 1,500 troops registered early for the 2005 membership year! The truth is that all troops participating in early registration are winners. By registering in the spring, these girls and adults acknowledge that they are eager for another great year of the learning, friendships and fun that only Girl Scouting can offer!

The lucky winners for the 2005 membership year are:

Senior Troop #12369 began as first grade Brownies in Bending Bayous Service Unit. Over the years this energetic troop took advantage of all that Girl Scouting has to offer! Badge work, field trips, camping, and service projects filled their younger years. The Cadette program was everything they hoped it would be, including Destinations for four girls and Silver Award for seven, with another one almost completed! As Seniors, their pace has not decreased. A trip to London’s Pax Lodge is planned in 2007, all while working on Gold Awards! Troop #12369 believes Girl Scouts has prepared them to accomplish it all!
Leadership team: Valerie Weber, Libby Pruitt, Lisa Stone

Cadette Troop #3159 is excited about their upcoming Silver Award event, Passport to International Adventure, where Brownies and Juniors in Bluebonnet Trails Service Unit will earn a Council patch. Leadership team: Teresa Mair, Anne Headley, Patricia Boyer
Brownie Troop #15053 from Wildwood Service Unit began their new year in September. They started working toward their Science in Action, Eco- Explorer, and Sports and Games try-its. In December they attended a performance of the Nutcracker and took an ice skating lesson at Memorial City Mall. The girls had fun at their Christmas party, where they made an ornament. Leadership team: Shannon De Los Santos and Hollye Derrick
