Spring Council Meeting

The Spring Council Meeting was attended by more than 300 people. The theme “A Perfect Fit” addressed how unique and vital each person’s participation is in the life of the Council. After those service units who have met their membership goal were recognized, GSSJC CEO Mary Vitek talked about the changes and opportunities that lie ahead for GSSJC as the premier girl-serving organization. After her presentation, the attendees broke up into groups and discussed ways that the Council can become stronger and have more of a dynamic impact on present and future members. As a closing, attendees watched an incredible video from National Geographic that really drove home the message that if people look for the good, not only will they find it but will also be an inspiration for others. This video will be available for service units to view in the coming months. The fall meeting will be held at Camp Agnes Arnold on September 24. Mark your calendar now and make plans to attend.

Gam 2005

GAM 2005 was smooth sailing! More than 1,200 girls, leaders, and volunteers enjoyed a beautiful day at Camp Casa Mare on April 23. This was the 10th time GAM has taken place. It occurs every other year. Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council would like to thank Kate Marx and her wonderful crew of volunteers for making this year’s event such a success! Look for crew awards in August’s The Golden Link.
