First
aid and CPR trained girls and adults are always needed at events.
All first aid courses are valid for three years from date of
completion. CPR courses are valid for one year from date of
completion.
All first aid courses have the
same skills and basic general information but use different
books, scenarios, videos, and have different emphasis. All Red
Cross First Aid/CPR/AED courses train individuals to act in
emergency situations and to recognize and care for life threatening
respiratory or cardiac emergencies. Also included are rescue
breathing, choking and CPR skills. Early recognition of a heart
attack and information on accident prevention is also presented.
General standard first aid information and skills i.e. bandaging
and splinting are covered. Preventing disease transmission and
responsibilities of a First Aider are also included.
