Troop #10022 had a trip to the bank to earn part of the Penny Power Try-it. Girls learned about counterfeit money, how to open a savings account, saw the vault, and watched the tellers at the drive-thru window.

Troop #1585 participated in It’s a Sailors Life aboard the Elissa. The girls learned to tie knots, set and douse Elissa staysail, line handling, and a sea chanty. The girls favorite activity aboard Elissa was the night watch and recording in the log the events during their watch. They then rode the ferry boat and saw several dolphins.

Your not seeing double. Troop #12663 has three sets of girl twins and a set of adult twins. The troop has been busy over the past year. They have participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the Fishing Village, camped at Camps Agnes Arnold and Silver Springs, helped Brownie troops in their service unit with their fly up and bridging ceremonies, made receiving blankets to help a Senior with her Gold Award Project, and retired their worn out US flag at one of their campfires.

Christy M., a third year Cadette from Troop #8220 earned the Silver Award with a big bash. Christy organized and presented a workshop for Brownies. The theme was a Hawaiian luau. The girls completed activities from several try-its. They completed, and were presented, the Art to Wear Try-it. Along with the workshop, girls played games, made new friends, and collected food for a local food pantry.

Juniors Dana F. and Michelle S. of Troop #4532 donated their history fair project to the Girl Scout Library. Their project chronicled Juliette Low’s creation of Girl Scouting in the US and the impact Girl Scouting has made in across the county. They are pictured with Girl Scout volunteer and staff member Myra Stefek.
