Start your year off fresh with Green Apple
Workshops
A Green Apple training is a short workshop (usually between
20-30 minutes) based on a specific topic. It is designed to
serve as an enrichment opportunity for Girl Scout leaders.
Workshops cover a variety of topics. Some may be for personal
enrichment such as time management tips; others are selected
to enhance troop program, like “Down to Earth: Earth
Magic.”
Anyone can deliver a Green Apple. Service unit managers,
ELFs, service unit team members, leaders, and volunteers should
consider providing Green Apple trainings as a service for
other leaders. Green Apples are great ways to address specific
needs and skills and expand on topics covered lightly in program
training. Leading a Green Apple gives you a chance to be a
trainer, and gain new knowledge.
There is no cost for using a Green Apple kit. In fact you
can simply go to www.gssjc.org under Training - Green Apple
and get materials sent to you via e-mail for most topics.
All kits can be checked out from the training registrar at
the Girl Scout Center.
Each kit has a customer-friendly outline for delivery of
the workshop. You will find a master for you to copy for any
handouts to be used during the workshop. There are sign-in
sheets and participant evaluations that must be returned to
the training registrar. Once returned, participants in the
workshop receive ‘credit’ on their permanent training
record for all official Green Apple workshops. |
