GSUSA Theatre Badge

Junior Girl Scouts will complete six requirements of the GSUSA Junior Theater Badge in one fun day! MASQUE, the resident acting/improvisational troupe of Episcopal High School, will lead girls as they explore and experience the excitement of theater. At the end of the session, each girl will receive her Theater badge. Visit the MASQUE Web page at (http://pillars.ehshouston.org/theatre/masque/masque.html)

Workshops include:

• Creating your own mask from felt, feathers, sequins, and other fun materials
• Learning the art of stage make-up by applying it to yourself, a mannequin, or a friend
• Watch an improvisation performance by MASQUE and meet and discuss with the actors.
• Practice and perform a variety of pantomimes and improvisations including mirror exercises, emotional expression, and impromptu conversations.

Who: Juniors, leaders; no tagalongs please
Where: Episcopal High School
4650 Bissonnet, Bellaire, 77401 (610 S near Hwy. 59)
When: Saturday, February 5, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. (snack and drink provided)
Bring:

Girl Participants

• Completed permission slip (GSSJC F-204)
• Copy of medical form (GSSJC F-185)

Troop leaders:

• Completed Adult Emergency form (GSSJC F-22)
• Troop first aid kit
• Sack lunches or troop/personal $ for lunch on the way home

All: Wear comfortable clothes - you’ll be participating in fun physical activities!
Min./Max: 50/100
Cost: $12.50 per girl; includes workshops and materials, snack, badge
Safety-Wise ratio of leaders free stay, serve as troop first-aiders and for supervision
