Helping others at all times...

On behalf of Troops #17758 and #17916, Katie K. and Sara W. presented 28 pillows to the M.D. Anderson Breast Cancer Center. Pat Kikendall, one of the Girl Scout mothers, sewed the pillows and the girls stuffed them at a Girl Scout meeting. The following girls helped with this project: Troop #17758, Tara B., Christine C., Kelsie H., Katie K., Meredith L., Jennifer R., Sara W.; Troop #17916, Chalie P., Christina C., Erin D., Kristin H., Michelle H., Roshni K., and Victoria F.

Troops #17016 and #5292 along with other troops from the Silver Spurs Service Unit, participated in National Public Lands Day. They cleaned up the fishing pond in Peckham Park and picked up trash.

Amber B. of Troop #21048 donated 10” of her hair to Locks of Love. The hair is given to children under 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss. This will help restore their self-esteem and confidence, enabling them to face the world. If you want more information log on to www.locksoflove.org.

Thank you Hewlett Packard

Employees from Hewlett Packard volunteered their time at Camp Misty Meadows in October. They helped clear three horse trails: Sandy Bottom, Forest, and Broomstick. Work was followed by a camp tour of Camps Misty Meadows and Agnes Arnold. All were very impressed and want to come back.

Junior Troop #4628 made 161 heart pillows for the Breast Cancer Awareness Heart Pillow Project. They made these pillows as part of their service project to earn the Bronze Award.

Troop #5989 toured and made donations to Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP).

Junior Troop #10584 earned the Bronze Award by collecting household goods for the Salvation Army Family Residence Center. The girls also published a cookbook to be given to the residence members.
