Big Boat Crew Rating and Sailing FUNdamentals
Ratings
This class will begin training for Mariners or for those
who have satisfactorily completed ARC Basic Sailing or GSSJC
Seaman Rating or ARC Small Craft Safety - Sailing who wish
to become more proficient on sailboats such as the big keeled
boats or sloops based at the Marina off camp. These two ratings
are the prerequisites for many other ratings. The Sailing
FUNdamentals Rating will reinforce the sailing theory learned
in Basic Sailing adding a variety of other topics of interest
to the sailor wanting to expand their sailing knowledge and
abilities. The Big Boat Crew Rating will let the Mariner work
on perfecting their skills while crewing on the “big
boats” (keeled sloops) as well as learning how to do
simple maintenance.
