Shutterbugs 1 & 2
(Fun black & white photography)

Shutterbugs is a STUDIO 2B group for girls in grades 7–12 that want to learn composition of photography, creativity, and how to develop their own pictures in a dark room. In the future, these girls might be a part of a group that supports the Communications Department, taking pictures in their troop, service unit, or at Council events. These girls might also help teach photography to other girls.

Who: Girls in grades 7-12
What: Shutterbugs 1: Learn basic photography composition and learn to develop pictures in the lab; Shutterbugs 2: (For girls who have already completed Basic Shutterbugs.) Learn more advanced photography composition, and develop even more pictures!
When: Friday - check in at 8 p.m. (Eat before arrival)
Sunday - check out at 4 p.m.

Shutterbugs 2: April 29 - May 1
Where: Camp Agnes Arnold
Cost: Shutterbugs 1: $25 per girl
Shutterbugs 2: $30 per girl
Bring: 35 mm camera (please label), one yard of cotton fabric, permission slip, medical form, personal gear for a campout, rain poncho, stuffed animal, and your own food for the weekend (mess kit for cooking food, cup, plates, utensils, etc.). Please make your meals simple so you don’t spend all of your time cooking.
Provided: Film for your camera, chemicals, and paper to develop some of your pictures.

Rock Climbing

Welcome to the world of Indoor rock climbing. Girls, leaders, and parents can come and “hang-out” and maneuver around the 10,000 square feet of climbing walls, arches and boulders in a fun, professional, and safe atmosphere.

What: Indoor climbing, belaying
Who: Brownies (7 and up) - adults
Where: Texas Rock Gym Memorial
9716 Old Katy Road, Suite # 102
When: Saturday February 26, March 19, April 23 and May 14, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Bring: Pack a lunch and enjoy the party room (optional), Permission slip and Texas Rock Gym Waiver Release form (Texas Rock Gym forms will be mailed upon confirmation of the session). Please bring the completed forms with you on the day of the event.
Min./Max.: 21/60 climbers
Ratio: 1 adult per 4 girls
Cost: $12.50 per climber, No charge for Belayers

Note: All participants must wear tennis or indoor climbing shoes. Adults attending will be expected to belay participants. Instructors are not provided for climbing. Participants will receive all belaying and climbing instructions at time of arrival. Suggested one adult per four girls to allow for adequate climbing time. Harnesses will be provided and all participants will receive instructions.
