Dance

Green Starlettes

The Green Starlettes travel all over the Council performing and providing impromptu dance clinics. They are available October through March to provide dance clinics for Daisy - Cadette troops/groups.

Who: Daisy-Cadette Girl Scouts
What: Dance clinic
When: October-March, approximately 1-2 hours long
Where: In a location that your troop/group arranges
Register: Program Registration Form, Put the location and a preferred event date on the form and you will be contacted to confirm or schedule the date.
Min.: 20 participants
Cost: $3 per girl for 20-50 girls; $2 per girl for 51 or more

Clinics must be evenings or weekends. If a mutually convenient time can’t be arranged,
your money will be refunded.

The Green Starlettes is open to any girl in grades six through nine. There are no try-outs to be on the team. One of the many goals of the Green Starlettes is to prepare girls for high school drill team. After four years with the Starlettes, girls will be ready to think about joining a high school drill team. First Aid

Community First Aid with Adult and Child CPR: (Level 1)

This course teaches rescue breathing, how to react in an emergency, how to help choking victims, CPR for adults and children, early recognition of a heart attack, information on accident prevention, and general first aid information and skills. The practice sessions of this course require physical activity. Anyone with a medical condition or disability that would prevent them from taking part in the practice sessions should call and discuss it prior to attending. It is important to arrive on time. The class involves practicing skills on the floor, so please dress comfortably. Girl Scouts must bring permission slip (F-204) and medical form (F-185).

First Aid/CPR Challenge (Level 1 or 2)

The challenge is designed for individuals who have already taken Red Cross first aid and CPR training, and just need re-certification. No skills will be taught. Come prepared to take the written test and demonstrate proficiency with the skills. You may challenge one or all of the following tests: First Aid Basics, Adult CPR, Child CPR, Infant CPR, AED Essentials, When Help is Delayed, Sports Safety Training

Who: Adult leaders/advisors, and girls age 11and up who have already completed a first aid/CPR class, and already know the skills
Where: Girl Scout Center
When: Sunday, January 30; 2-5 p.m.
Bring: Pen or pencil, Girls - bring a permission slip and medical form.
Min./Max.: 4/12
Cost: $7.50

When Help Is Delayed (Level 2)

If you are responsible for large groups, and/or are more than 4 hours away from medical help, this class is for you. This is a short course designed to provide the citizen responder with the knowledge and skills necessary in an emergency to help sustain life, reduce pain, and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until professional medical help arrives. This course will be taught at the “Crazy Quilt” event on March 18
Prerequisites: Current within 3 years First Aid certificate and
Current within 1 year Adult CPR certificate.
