Directions: Take Highway 59 South to Crabb
River Road Exit. Go left and stay on this road (FM 762) about
15 miles until park entrance. Turn left at blinking yellow
light to stay on FM 762 or Take Hwy 288 South to the FM 1462
Exit at Rosharon. Go right about 15 miles to FM 762. Turn
right on FM 762 and go about a mile to the park entrance.
Brownie Girl Scout Try-it Workshops
Brownie Girl Scouts complete requirements for a Brownie try-it
and take a mini mission, simulated space flight aboard the
SS Observer at the Challenger Learning Center. Learn about
Earth and space all in one day! Leaders are responsible for
purchasing try-its at a Girl Scout Shop. Troops receive specific
instructions in a confirmation letter.

The Observatory is open to the public Saturday evenings. Troops
may choose to bring a picnic and stay to look through the
telescopes. Tickets for the three domed scopes are $5. Deck
scopes are all open and free. Tickets are
on sale at 5 p.m. at the gift shop.

Junior Girl Scout Overnight Programs
Junior Girl Scouts arrive on Friday to complete requirements
for a GSUSA badge, look through a telescope (weather permitting),
and take a night hike around Creekfield Lake. On Saturday
morning, girls can take a simulated space flight aboard the
SS Observer at the Challenger Learning Center. Plan to attend
this cool adventure. It’s out of this world! Troops
receive specific instructions in a confirmation letter.

Houston Audubon Society On-Board!
GSSJC is pleased to announce a new partnership with
the Houston Audubon Society, who promotes the conservation
and appreciation of birds and wildlife habitat. Houston
Audubon’s Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary is an
eighteen-acre oasis in the midst of Houston’s
busy Memorial area. They offer Animal Try-it workshops
for Brownies and Wildlife Badge workshops for Juniors.
Note: Badges are not included. They may be purchased
at any Girl Scout shop.
