Carousel

Carousel is an exciting addition to traditional troop camping. Troops plan meals, bring equipment, and have a troop camping experience
plus the added bonus of a volunteer troop of girls who serve as camp counselors and coordinate the activities at camp on Saturday.

Troops are responsible for:

  • A currently certified outdoor trained adult
    (attach copy of certification with registration)
  • A currently certified adult trained in first aid
    (attach copy of certification with registration)
  • Meals to be cooked in outdoor facilities/units

Camp Silver Springs

Carousel is:

  • Troop camping – so bring your gear and food and other necessities
  • At Camp Silver Springs
  • From Friday-Sunday
  • Special Saturday program planned for troops by Carousel camp counselors

Carousel is not:

  • A service unit weekend or event
  • Air-conditioned

Placement:

  • Troops are placed on a first-received, first-placed basis.
  • Troops may get to share the unit with other cool troops to enable more girls to enjoy these great sessions.
  • Leaders will receive placement notification within two weeks of the receipt of the registration.
    Min./Max.: 60/150
    Friday night Check in procedures:
    Arrive by 8 p.m. Gates are locked at 10 p.m.
    Sunday Checkout procedures:
  • Camp checkout is by 2 p.m. on the last day of the session.
  • Please arrange your checkout time with the ranger.
  • Patches will be given to the troops after they check out of their site and turn in evaluations.
