GSSJC hosts 4th Annual Power of a Promise Breakfast

The fourth annual Girl Scout Power of a Promise Breakfast, sponsored by Halliburton, was held this year on November 11 at the Junior League of Houston. Guests heard testimonials from Girl Scouts and adults describing the power Girl Scouting has had in their lives, and Mary Vitek outlined the exciting new directions Girl Scouts are moving in for the 21st century.
A special thank you to our volunteers who braved the early morning traffic to be at the event at 6:15 a.m. – Coordinator of Volunteers Evelyn Vittone, Portia Cook, Chris Dunning, Joan Gilliland, Patti Glass, Carole Lowenkron, Jimmie Malone, and Sarah Rushing.
GSSJC welcomes our new Promise Society Members: Hazel Evans, Ann Jones, Betsy Kamin, and Deborah Prosperie.

Bunny Bits from Robin Rabbit

It’s history in the making and Robin wants to keep a record of her travels and activities during these next two years. You can help us make a Robin Rabbit Scrapbook that you will want to be included in, if for nothing else, posterity’s sake. Here is what you need to do – when you see Robin at camp or she comes for a visit to your troop or service unit meeting…pose with her and then send us your original 12 x 12 scrapbook page. Don’t forget to identify everyone who is pictured with Robin and please be sure that your page includes acid free materials that will stand the test of time. Also make sure you include some journaling to tell us what happened during your visit. Happy scrapping!

Do you know what a baby rabbit is called? Answer on page 56.
