Senior Recognition Event 2005

April 10, 2-4:30 p.m. at Camp Agnes Arnold

   Honoring Gold Award recipients, 2005 Graduating Seniors, Ten-Year Pin recipients, and The Emerald Circle Scholarship recipients.

   Invitations will be mailed to all graduating Senior Girl Scouts and Gold Award recipients who are registered in the San Jacinto Council. There is not a record of Senior Girl Scouts who are eligible for Ten-Year Pins, so you must notify Council that you have earned your Ten-Year Pin for the 2004-2005 membership year. Then we will send you an invitation to the Senior Recognition Event. Complete the form below and return it to Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council, attention Julie Deeter, 3110 Southwest Freeway, Houston, TX 77098 or e-mail the information to jdeeter@sjgs.org. Night on the Reef
Overnight Aquarium Adventure


   Discover what is found above and below the oceans of the world. Observe reef inhabitants in their own environment. Spend a night in Moody Garden’s Aquarium! Girls will get a private tour of the Aquarium, along with interactive activities, and presentations.

What: An overnight adventure at Moody Gardens Aquarium
Who: Girls age 11-17
Where: Moody Gardens Aquarium, One Hope Boulevard
Galveston
When: February 26, Plan to arrive at Moody Gardens Visitors Center by 6:30 p.m. to meet your guide. Girls need to be picked up by 8 a.m. Sunday, February 27.
Bring: Permission slip, medical form, sleeping bag, pillow, personal items; Don’t bring: cots, air mattresses
Min./Max.: 20/40, one adult for every ten girls
Cost: $40 per person

Girl Scout Sing Along

Enjoy a Council camp and sing old and new songs with sister Girl Scouts. This is not a songs training. Event brought to girls by the members of GSSJC’s Take Note Council Choir

Who: All Girl Scouts, leaders, and interested adults
Absolutely no tagalongs
Where: Camp Agnes Arnold Lodge, Conroe
When: Girl Scout Sunday, March 6, 2-4:30 p.m.
Bring: Leader keeps completed for each girl:
GSSJC form F-204, GSSJC form F-185, form F-22, Adult Emergency form for all adults, First aid kit. Optional: SWAPS, cans for food drive, snacks, drinks, cassette tape player/batteries
Min./Max.: 100/350
Cost: $5/person (adults and girls), includes camp facility fee, one patch per participant, and two song sheets per troop/group.

Note: Would your troop like to share (sing or teach) a favorite song? If yes, please include the lyrics with your registration form. Take Note Council Choir will draw from interested troops. Selected troops will be notified prior to the event.

Project Horizons

What: What’s Buggin’ You?- The girls will spend the day at camp enjoying crafts, nature games, songs, hiking, and other fun “bug” ideas.
Who: Daisies, Brownies, and their leaders
When: Saturday, March 12, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Where: Camp Misty Meadows
Deadline: February 25

What: Let’s Go Fly A Kite!-Spend the day making and flying a kite. There will be crafts, songs, games, hiking, and other breezy activities!
Who: Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, and their leaders
When: Saturday, April 9, 9 a.m-4 p.m.
Where: Camp Agnes Arnold
Deadline: March 25

Bring: Sack lunch, cup, rain poncho, sit-upon, swaps
Min./Max.: 50/200 girls for each Project Horizon–these events fill fast so register early
Cost: Each Project Horizon is $8 per person - girls and adults; includes patch, event supplies and camp fee.
