Council welcomes some New Kids on the Block
by Evelyn Vittone

Eddy Franklin and Yasmin have recently moved into our Council and joined the 19 other Kids on the Block, Inc. puppets. The Council Puppetry Troupe is so excited to greet these newest “kids” and start learning their stories about bullying and school safety and other life lessons.

The Troupe wants all Girl Scouts ages 11-17 to consider joining this performing group that conducts shows throughout our Council. This past year the Troupe has:

  • performed for more than 2,800 people Council-wide
  • attended Council events like Six Flags AstroWorld, Brownie Magic, and Earth Day
  • written and produced their own skits and shows
  • used puppets to help earn leadership awards, like Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards
  • earned more than 187 recognitions/stars amongst the 37 puppeteers
  • hosted the Puppets’ Choice Awards for friends and family

The Troupe is currently recruiting new
puppeteers just in time for fall events.
So, if you like to perform, the Troupe needs you!
