Girls in Troop #5462 decided to have a “Fear Factor, Texas Style” competition. They spent weeks studying Texas facts. Girls rotated stations where they had to match Texas symbols, cities, rivers, regions, and trivia. Winners in each category were Alexis W.(Miss Texas Rivers), Sarah G. (Miss Texas Regions), JulieAnn R. (Miss Texas Trivia), Emily G. (Miss Texas Cities), and Danesha E. (Miss Texas Symbols). The overall winner of the event was Kymberli T. who was crowned “Bluebonnet Princess.” Alexandra R. was given a prize for having to eat the most gross stuff. All the girls had a great time earning their “Troop’s Own” try-its and badges which they are calling “So Totally Texas.” During the competition, girls and parents voted on patch designs that the girls had made at a prior meeting. The winning try-it design was submitted by Danesha E. The winning badge design was submitted by Alexis W. and the winning fun patch design was submitted by Sarah G.
