Adult Recognition Event in Houston

     The 2005 Adult Recognition Event was held on April 30 at the Wyndham Greenspoint Hotel. The Thanks Badge II, Continuing Service Award, Thanks Badge, Honor Pin, Appreciation Pin and the Family Award were awarded to 37 people at the event. Fourteen Community Awards were also presented for outstanding support from an individual or group within our community over an extended period of time. Lifetime Achievement Awards were also presented to Virginia Reed and Vinola Karnei. Margaret Sheriff, who received her Lifetime Achievement Award at the Fall Council Meeting, was also recognized. The theme for the event centered around mosaics, which was appropriate according to Cora Ann Blytas because the event “is meant to honor individuals who are the jewels of San Jacinto Council, people who contributed to the Girl Scout mosaic. We celebrate the diversity and the great fit that makes each person special.”
