working with members of your service unit – how to bring
out the best in all of them. You’ll receive the latest
updates, what’s new in service unit meetings this year,
and ideas to add sparkle to your meetings so all leaders will
want to come.

Building a Team
Through games and activities, examine how
you can motivate your team to develop objectives and achieve
goals. Learn the differences between collections, groups,
and teams as well as the various stages of team development
and the characteristics of an effective team. Bring as many
of your team members as you can.

Give ‘em the Pickle!
A fun, motivating look at “taking
care of the customer.” Customers today expect good service.
If service is great they’ll stay. Whether it’s
responding to a particular need, adding a little extra in
the service we offer or simply taking a personal interest
in them – these are some of the ways we “give
away pickles.” We’ll explore a look at WHO our
customer is and focus on four main objectives: Service, Attitude,
Consistency, and Teamwork.

ELF (Experienced Leader Friend) Facilitator
The training will show how experienced leaders can mentor new
leaders. Include techniques for helping leaders prepare for
their first few meetings, get through that first parent meeting
and plan the investiture. The training is designed both for
individuals who have been appointed as leader mentor facilitators
or as their service unit leader mentor coordinator. Coordinators
will receive outlines and tips for sharing what they learn with
others.

Facing Conflict Head On!
Learn ways to think “out of the box”
when dealing with conflict. This course will equip you with
proven step-by-step tools to use in any situation where people
are disagreeing. You’ll learn when you need to step
in, when to back off, and how to keep your own cool while
calming the waters of interpersonal conflicts.

Service unit nominating committee members
learn the procedures and responsibilities required of their
position. A timeline for performing the committee’s
duties is included.

money including development of a proposed budget, management

BLT Facilitator
All NEW video and handouts! Provide basics of Girl Scout leadership
for new leaders in your area by learning to facilitate the
Basic Leadership Training (BLT). Includes using the BLT video,
activities for leadership team members, answers to questions
and use of the facilitation kit.

equipment and more. It focuses on events that are NOT camping

Appreciation is an ongoing, everyday process
for anyone, anywhere, anytime. This course is an expanded
version of Adult Recognition training. It will provide you
with information on service unit, Council, and National recognitions
and the responsibilities of the service unit recognitions
committee. You will also receive tips on record keeping and
ideas on how to say “Thanks a Million” for a job
well done.
