Girl Scouting is Toadally Awesome
2005-2006 Fall Product Program

“Girl Scouting is Toadally Awesome” is not just a fun motto for the Fall Product Program. It is how everyone feels about Girl Scouting and the girls who participate. The frog, turtle, and toad represent the necessity of being involved in our environments, especially where water conservation is concerned. What better way to start the Girl Scouting year than to learn how one can help these creatures have better surroundings which in turn helps all of us. Look for more information on water related activities as the year progresses.
The Fall Product Program teaches girls many valuable skills including: goal setting, planning, teamwork, responsibility, handling finances, and communicating. It is also a great way for troops to earn start up money for the year, with 25 percent of the activity proceeds going to the troop. Last year, troops used their Fall Product proceeds for such things as camping, service projects, recognitions, troop supplies and field trips like Build-a-Bear, the ballet, Council events and much more.

Troops earn 25 percent of proceeds from intems sold. This is a fun, easy way to get start-up money for the troop.

This year Girl Scouts will be selling a new sugar free product, Chocolate Covered Toffee Bits, as well as Whole Cashews, Hot Cajun Crunch, Double Dipped Chocolate Covered Peanuts, Honey Roasted Peanuts, Chocolate Covered Raisins, Mint Meltaways and Peanut Squares as well as two decorative tins. Deluxe Mixed Nuts can be purchased in a winter-themed tin with a snow-covered scene that will be perfect for holiday gift giving. The second tin is the second in a series of three Girl Scout tins. This one features a Girl Scout troop involved in eco-action activities and quotes The Promise from the 1970s. This will be a must have for any Girl Scout. The tin is once again filled with Chocolate Covered Almonds, a treat that broke all records when introduced last year. The Holiday Combo will be back as well and will include the Deluxe Mixed Nuts in the winter tin and Mint Meltaways in a square tin with colorful cowgirl boots.
Girl Scouts will be taking orders for Fall Products from September 17 through October 7 with the Holiday Combo on sale until December 1. For information on how to participate in the Fall Product Activity please Lynn Flournoy at 713-292-0230 or lflournoy@sjgs.org.
