Miscellaneous Class Offerings

Texas Boater Education Course
This is a State of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department certified Texas Boater Education Course. In this course you will learn about mandatory boating safety rules and responsibilities, navigation rules, boating emergencies, personal water craft safety, trailering, boat types and boat operation. It is not only for beginning boaters but also for experienced boaters who want to refresh their knowledge and be abreast of new boating laws. It specifies that anyone in Texas born after September 1, 1984, cannot operate a windblown vessel over 14 feet in length, a motorboat with more than 15 horsepower, or personal water craft with more than 10 horsepower unless they have taken the boater education course. This is the course they need to take to fulfill this requirement. Girls and adults wishing to “skipper” one of the larger boats in our fleet need to take this course. Adults interested in refreshing their memory in the rules and regulations are also encouraged to take this class.
