Houston Arboretum
Nature Center

     Naturalists will lead Girl Scouts through activities to complete requirements for the Wildlife Junior Badge. Girls will learn techniques to identify birds and reptiles, become familiar with characteristics of poison ivy and venomous snakes and Texas endangered animals through participation in hands-on activities, nature tours, demonstrations, a service project, and completion of a workbook.

Houston Audubon Society On-Board!
     Houston Audubon Society promotes the conservation and appreciation of birds and wildlife habitat. Houston Audubon’s Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary is an eighteen-acre oasis in the midst of Houston’s busy Memorial area.

Overnight Camping at Armand Bayou Nature Center for Juniors

Explore the trails with the nocturnal animals through a guided night hike, gaze at the stars through a telescope, and roast marshmallows over an open fire. Indoor camping provided in the auditorium or tent camping near May’s Pond.

Cost: $10 Junior; $5 extra adults, free for leader or co-leader.
