5. In the mood for food? Do you eat when you’re stressed? bored? lonely? angry? Do you nibble when you watch TV? do homework? Want to reward yourself? Go out with friends? If you eat when you’re not really hungry, you can eat too much. Jot down three things you can do instead of reaching for food when you’re not really hungry.

It’s your choice! Use this chart to help you enjoy healthy – and tasty meals and snacks.

      From hospitals to long term care facilities… operating rooms to research…the nursing profession works to meet the expanding health care needs of the our society.
      National Nurses Week 2005 is devoted to celebrating the contribution of the largest health care profession. National Nurses Week begins May 6, marked as R.N. (registered nurse) Recognition Day, and ends May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, founder of nursing as a modern profession.
     Celebrate nurses who step to the front lines each day to promote and protect the health of our citizens. 
Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council are invited to learn about, create and give!

Learn about
Discuss at an upcoming meeting what you know about the nursing profession.
Invite a professional to visit your meeting or explore other sources for information.

Watch The Golden Link and the Council Information Network (CIN) located on the Council Web site (www.gssjc.org) for HCHD’s Nursing Discovery Days.
Earn GSSJC’s Council’s Own Interest Project, Nursing Discovery (GSSJC F-78).

Create
      Brainstorm with your troop creative gifts to give as thank you’s to local nurses.
      Surf the web for creative thank you gift ideas other groups have done. (www.nursingworld.org/pressrel/nnw/nnwhist.htm)
Nurses would also appreciate a box of Girl Scout Cookies.
Tie in your activities with a GSUSA try it, badge, or interest project OR the GSSJC Council Service Program Patch (F-834).
