Summer Carousel

Carousel is an exciting addition to traditional troop camping at Camp Robinwood in Willis. Troops plan meals, bring equipment, and have a troop camping experience plus a volunteer troop of girls serve as camp counselors and coordinate the activities at camp on Saturday. Each troop is responsible for a currently certified outdoor trained adult, a currently certified adult trained in first aid and meals to be cooked in outdoor facilities/units.

Placement: Troops are placed on a first-received, first-placed basis. Troops may get to share the unit with other cool troops to enable more girls to enjoy these great sessions.
Check in: Arrive by 8 p.m. Friday. Gates are locked at 10 p.m.
Check out: Camp checkout is by 2 p.m. on the last day of the session. Please arrange your checkout time with the ranger. Patches will be given to the troops after they check out of their site and turn in evaluations.

Min./Max.: 60/150 Deadline: May 23, 2005 for first placement

A Rio Carnival
Earth, Wind, and Fire
When: June 3-5 When: July 8-10

What: Take a trip to the exotic Rio De Robinwood for Carnival Carousel. Make traditional masks and parade through camp carnival style. At the end of the day celebrate with a costume ball. Of course, there will be swimming and other fun activities throughout Saturday. What: Help plant new seeds by participating in a watermelon seed-spitting contest, race like the wind in different contests/games, be a fire-eater, make crafts that need motion to make them work, and other activities. Bring swaps to trade with other troops. Fashion show for those who want to dress like in the 70s.

What: The sky’s the limit! Learn new games, play old games…teach YOUR favorite game and have fun! What: What do you like about yourself? What do you like about others? Is different bad? Enjoy diversity activities in a camp setting. Includes portions of ZINK the ZEBRA. Program Aide Girls ages 13-17 who would like to serve as staff should enroll in the Zink the Zebra/Storytelling Program Aide Specialty course on June 3.
Mom and Me
Pow Wow in the Pines

What: Share the camp with the program aides and enjoy a relaxing weekend of mom and me activities! What: Do you hear those drums? This session includes: Indian theme swapping (bring your creations), tribal banner making, ceremonies, build your own drums native games, and songs and chants that will echo through the pines. Sign up as a team to build a teepee. Archery, canoeing and swimming. A great way to end summer and to begin the next school year.

What: Visit the Tantalizing Tropics! Get your passports ready to take a trip through the tropics! Enjoy clothes, games, jewelry, and refreshing water activities from the world’s tropical paradises.   What: Space out at Camp Robinwood. Saturday will be filled with swimming, archery, cosmic crafts, and a night hike.
