April 2005 Volume 31 Issue 4
Introducing our Keynote Speaker Sandy Queen! Sandy Queen is the founder and director of Lifeworks, Inc., a training/consulting firm that specializes in helping people take a better look at their lives through humor, laughter, and play. Lighten Up – this is the only life you have! is Sandy’s philosophy. Through her wide variety of workshops and keynotes, her ability to use humor, even for serious topics, has gained her a widespread reputation for helping participants take a look at their lives, attitudes, and feelings, and find places to “lighten up,” both personally and professionally.

Workshops Growing as an individual and as a Girl Scout volunteer is the focus of the 23 workshop topics from which you will get to choose. You can’t go wrong in your choices

because all are especially designed to be informative, educational, and helpful. Carefully review the workshop listings and pre-register for those that are just right for you! If you choose to devote one workshop session to viewing the department booths, please keep in mind that Session D will not afford as much time for viewing. The exhibit hall closes early, allowing everyone the opportunity to attend the Closing Session.

Department Booths and On The Go Market If you think you know everything there is to know about our Council, then think again! This is your opportunity to get the new fall training calendar from Adult Development, learn the new and improved details of the troop/group sponsorship program from Membership Initiatives, preview the incentives for the 2006 Cookie Sale, etc. Commercial vendors will also be on display. While visiting each exhibit, make sure to ask questions, pick up badge information, troop/group activity ideas, and

field trip news to enhance and improve your troop/group program.

Girl Scout Shop For your shopping pleasure and convenience throughout the conference, the Girl Scout Shop will be open Friday during the 3-6 p.m. booth viewing period and during posted times on Saturday. As always, there will be new merchandise as well as those items near and dear to everyone’s heart.

Door Prizes and Booth Prizes Always fabulous, always fun to win, door prizes at MDC, The Finale will be awarded throughout the conference. By virtue of your conference registration, your name is entered in the draw for one of the many, many, many door prizes. Instead of booth coupons as in the past - winners of booth prizes will be selected the same way. All department booth prizes will be awarded at the Conference Closing Session. In keeping with MDC tradition… “You must be present to win!”
