2004 Fall Product Sale
Girl Scouting–
Making the World a Better Place
The Fall Product Sale not only teaches girls many valuable
skills, but it is also an easy way for troops to earn start
up money for the year. Skills enhanced by participation in
the sale include social skills such as speaking more easily
with customers, math skills tied to money handling, goal setting,
and the basics of financial literacy, a must in today’s
world. “Making the World a Better Place,” this
year’s theme, emphasizes attributes such as caring for
one’s environment and the importance of butterflies.
In addition troops earn 25 percent of the selling price of
the items.
Girl
Scouts will be selling quality products roasted and packaged
by Ashdon Farms. A new product this year is chocolate covered
almonds, offered in the Girl Scout collectible tin. This tin
depicts a Girl Scout scene from the 1940s. Two more tins will
be offered in the series during future sales, and the three
will fit together to make a round set of canisters on a tray.
Another new item is the tin featuring a Currier & Ives
Winter scene, filled with Deluxe Mixed Nuts and perfect for
holiday gifting. The traditional themed tin will have butterflies
this year and will be filled with Mint Melt-Aways. Other favorites
returning this fall are: Fancy Cashews, Hot Cajun Crunch,
Chocolate Covered Peanuts, Peanut Squares, Honey Roasted Peanuts,
and Chocolate Covered Raisins.
Brownie Girl Scouts and older are eligible to participate
in the Fall Product Sale. In order for troops to participate,
each troop’s Fall Product Sale Manager must be trained
by the Service Unit Fall Product Sale Manager. Training sessions
will be held September 4-17. Order taking begins September
18 and continues through October 4.
