Introducing two new courses!

The former “Let’s Plan an Event” has been under construction and now is REVISED, NEW, and IMPROVED!

Event Basics

Have you been asked to serve on a service unit event such as bridging, father/daughter dance, or outdoor skills day and didn’t know where to begin? If so, the new designed Event Basics is the course for you. This course will guide you in recruiting committees, event finance, time lines, scheduling, requesting Council equipment, and much more. It focuses on events that do NOT involve camping or overnights. Participants will come away with new theme and program ideas for your event.
Who should attend? This course is strongly recommended for all event planners including the chair and committee members.

Weekend Event Planning

If you are planning a weekend event such as leaders’ escape weekend, leader/daughter event, or service unit weekend you will need to take the new Weekend Event Planning training. This course covers information on how to reserve a campsite, tried-and-true programs for various sites, meals, parking, recruiting committees, check in/out, lodging, and more. This training qualifies as the “required” training for event chairmen, especially those using our Council camps for the event. Pre-requisite for this training is Event Basics.
