Join Girl Scouts for a trip around the globe
as you tour the Egypt exhibit and view artifacts of an ancient
culture at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Learn about
world traditions and make your own travel souvenirs to take
home! After a fun-filled evening of activities, see the night
sky in the Burke Baker Planetarium before settling down to
sleep among the exhibits. Girls will receive a HMNS Overnight
Patch as well as work toward earning the GSUSA World Neighbors
Junior Girl Scout Badge while participating in activities.
Who: Junior Girl Scout troops and chaperones
Due to limited space, group/troops must register a MINIMUM
of five girls.
Chaperones: First five campers have two adult chaperones (at
least one female) to meet the GSUSA Safety- Wise requirement
and the HMNS requirements.
If group has 5-10 girls: Two chaperones only (at least one
female).
Groups over 10, one adult chaperone required for each five
girls. (One must be female.)
Small troop? Consider combining with another small troop to
meet the registration requirements!
When: Friday, September 24, 7 p.m. - Saturday,
September 25, 9 a.m.
Where: Houston Museum of Natural Science, One Hermann Circle
Drive, Houston. The museum is located near Hermann Park across
from the Miller Outdoor Theater. For directions to the museum,
visit www.hmns.org. Complimentary parking for overnight participants
is in the museum’s parking garage.
Cost: $40 per camper (girl)
$20 per required adult chaperones
No tag-a-longs
Event fee includes: program activities, evening snack, breakfast,
planetarium show, and admission to the permanent exhibit halls
on Saturday. HMNS Overnight Patches are included for girls
only. Additional patches are available for $3 each. List the
number of additional patches needed on the Program Registration
Form. DO NOT PAY FOR THESE PATCHES UNTIL THE EVENT.

Registration Form found in The Golden Link or online at www.gssjc.org,
Forms/Program. Each group must submit a full listing of camper
and chaperone names with their registration form for use by
the museum staff so no girl will be overlooked.
Bring: GSSJC Form F-204 - GSSJC permission slip
GSSJC Form F-185 - GSSJC medical form – Two copies (Publicity
release on bottom of form allows museum to use photos taken
at event)
Signed HMNS release and consent forms for each overnight participant
(mailed with confirmation)
Troop first aid kit, personal toiletries, and overnight gear
(sleeping bag and pillow)
