Victoria F. of Troop #11577 won the “Biggest Catch” contest.

Smile S’More’s first Father/Daughter Fishing Day was a huge success. It was held at the Lodge in Huntsville State Park in May. The day opened with a flag ceremony. The girls and dads had a wonderful time fishing and spotted an alligator in the lake. Wal-Mart contributed prize bag for the girls and fishing poles, lures, fishing line, and other items to help make the day special. Special thanks go to
Wal-mart and Huntsville State Park for making it a successful event.

Meghan R. of Troop #7013 helped bridge Jessica M. to Juniors. Unfortunately Jessica moved to Florida in June. Troop #7289 will miss her.

Troop #12311 used cookie money to go on a trip to New Orleans this summer to celebrate their bridging to Cadette’s. They stayed at their leader’s mom’s house for a week. They toured the zoo, rode the streetcar and ferry, toured several cemeteries, visited the French Quarter, ate at Cafe Maspero and Cafe De Monde, did a swamp tour, toured the aquarium, and lots more. They earned the Heritage Patch on the trip. The following girls attended: Kelly Alsobrook, Julia Davila, Carli MacDonald, Jaime Smith and Junior Girl Scout Sara Davila. The girls were accompanied by their Leader Sondra Alsobrook and Co-Leaders Kathy Smith and Janet Davila.

The girls pose with a mime in the French Market.

The group takes a break from sight-seeing and shopping for a photo.
