Adult Training Center welcomes
addition and improvements
by Judy
Syring
A
cabin was recently built at the Adult
Training Center at the Treelake camp complex.
The Adult Training Center also received
updates to its kitchen unit. Trainees
in the Standard Troop Camp training will
now be able to see what a cabin looks
like as well as enjoy the kitchen unit’s
new lighting, cabinets, and roof.
The new cabin
will meet several needs: accommodations
for housing overflow of training participants
and allow the necessity of electricity
for participants with special needs.
After a recent
training Brenda Martin, outdoor level
training coordinator, said, “The
unit kitchen looks nice. The new lights,
cabinets, and roof are wonderful. The
lights in the kitchen made all the difference
when we were trying to do things after
it got dark. The new cabin placement was
excellent and fit right into the flow
of the tent and latrines part of the training
perfectly. I think this was a beneficial
update to the unit in that we now can
give the trainees an up close look at
how a cabin looks at other camps.”
