Calling all lifeguards!
Are you a lifeguard
looking to make
$10 an hour on
the weekend?

Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council is looking for girls and adults who are 16 or older, are American Red Cross lifeguard certified, and want to earn $10 an hour this summer, fall, and spring while lifeguarding at Girl Scout camps. Lifeguards are needed at Casa Mare in Seabrook; Agnes Arnold, Misty Meadows, and Silver Springs in Conroe; Robinwood in Willis; and Whispering Pines in Nacogdoches. Applicants MUST be dependable, reliable, and able to work with minimal supervision. The job entails working Saturdays in the months of June, July, August, September, October, April, and May.

Community First Aid with
Adult and Child CPR

This course teaches rescue breathing, how to react in an emergency, how to help choking victims, CPR for adults and children, early recognition of a heart attack, information on accident prevention, and general first aid information and skills. The practice sessions of this course require physical activity. Anyone with a medical condition or disability that would prevent them from taking part in the practice sessions should call and discuss it prior to attending. It is important to arrive on time. The class involves practicing skills on the floor, so dress comfortably. Girl Scouts must bring permission slip (F-204) and medical form (F-185).

Baby-sitting Training

Trained baby-sitters are always in demand so learn how to be prepared for your job. This course teaches girls how to handle emergencies, prevent accidents, and the knowledge for competent baby-sitting practices. Students will also learn job-hunting skills to help them find a baby-sitting job. Some first aid and rescue breathing skills are included.

Minute Maid Park Tours
Minute Maid Park, located in downtown Houston at Union Station, was built to reflect Houston’s historical relationship with the railroads. It features a vintage, full-size locomotive that runs along track on the left field wall.

Educational tours can include:
· Time in the Learning Center playinginteractive games and researching the history of Major League Baseball in the United States.
· Tour the historic Union Station, broadcasting booths, press boxes, or luxury suites.
· On field tour and visit the Astros or visitors’ dugout box.
· Research the history and try on team uniforms and playing equipment.
· View how professionals manufacture balls and bats.

All tours listed are private to Girl Scout troops and their families. There MUST be at least 1 adult for every 10 girls. The tour involves walking one mile and may include stairs and ramps. Tours are wheelchair and stroller accessible. Girl Scouts must bring permission slip and medical form.
