Recruitment is everybody’s job!

As a member of the service team, recruiting adults and girls into the Girl Scouting experience is your primary role. GSSJC wants to give you every resource you will need to hold successful year-round recruitment events.
TOOLS FOR SUCCESS, RECRUITMENT/ORGANIZATION, and REGISTRAR are hands-on trainings
that will teach all members of your service team how to reach out to girls and adults in your community!

Service teams are encouraged to bring a lunch and spend the day. Begin at 9 a.m. with Tools for Success. After lunch, choose one of the following courses: Recruitment/Organization (contains detailed information about the recruitment process), Registrar (new only), or Experienced Registrar (for those who have been trained and have served at least one year in the position).
9 a.m.–noon
Tools for Success includes:
l An overview of the entire recruitment process (For more detailed information also register for Recruitment/Organization in the afternoon.)
l Duties of each member of the team
l The 4 Key Functions of Recruitment
l Timeline – what needs to happen and when
l Specific recruitment strategies
l Building relationships with school principals and faith- based ministers, using the 40 Developmental Assets

Beginning at 12:30 p.m.

l Sample presentations and information plus ways to develop your own presentation
l Recruiting beyond the school cafeteria
l Shared adult recruitment strategies that work

Participants in Recruitment/Organization will receive a diskette containing sample materials for posters and signs, links to activities to keep children busy during the rally, and sample presentations to customize to fit your specific need.
