Administrative Train In
August 14 at the Girl Scout Center

A special day of enriched administrative workshops for all service unit administrators and service team members.
These workshops are designed to enhance your skills and give you job-specific training.
You will have the opportunity to network with other service teams, build rapport with your own team, and have fun!

Time: Check in begins at 8:30 a.m. Classes begin at 9 a.m. Coffee and doughnuts available prior to the first session.
Fee: $5
Bring: Lunch, training record booklet, soda and snack machine available.
Deadline: August 7. Register early to ensure placement. Classes subject to closing or cancellation depending on registration.

Building a Team
Through games and activities, examine how you can motivate your team to develop objectives and achieve goals. Learn the differences between collections, groups, and teams as well as the various stages of team development and the characteristics of an effective team. Bring as many of your team members as you can.

Beyond Ready, Set, Go!
Now that you have completed the basics of Administrators’ training and have a year of experience in the position, come learn more about your leadership style in working with members of your service unit – how to bring out the best in all of them. You’ll receive the latest updates, what’s new in service unit meetings this year, and ideas to add sparkle to your meetings so all leaders will want to come. Are events lighting a flame or burning people out? We’ll explore this interesting dilemma.

Delegate (Council)
For elected delegates and persons to serve in the place of delegates. Covers the duties of the delegates, Council meeting procedures, and an overview of parliamentary procedure.

Get Ready to Rally!
Move your rallies from “ho-hum” to “WOW.” Discover tips and techniques to add sparkle and zest to your rallies and display booths. Includes brand new ideas for setting up displays and creating excitement at your next recruitment event.

Ethics for Excellence
In this course, participants will learn to identify the right decisions for the right reasons when dealing with people. Course includes real life situations and ethical ways to deal with them.

Facing Conflict Head On!
Learn ways to think “out of the box” when dealing with conflict. This course will equip you with proven step-by-step tools to use in any situation where people are disagreeing. You’ll learn when you need to step in, when to back off, and how to keep your own cool while calming the waters of interpersonal conflicts.

Volunteer Records Management
If you are part of the volunteer management process, you need this training. Complete information on volunteer applications, criminal background checking procedure, responsibilities of service unit personnel, and the entire volunteer records management process are covered.

Treasurer
For service unit treasurers. Covers how to manage money including development of a proposed budget and management of income and expenditures. Learn how to set up a bank account and use GSSJC forms relating to finance. #4721; 2:30-4:30 p.m.

BLT Facilitator
All NEW video and handouts! All new and existing BLT facilitators must take this training. Be able to provide the basics of Girl Scout leadership for new leaders in your area by learning to facilitate BLT. Includes using the BLT video, activities for leadership team members, answers to questions, and use of the facilitation kit.

Leader Mentor Facilitator (ELF)
The training will show how experienced leaders can mentor new leaders. It includes techniques for helping leaders prepare for their first few meetings and parent meeting and plan the investiture. The training is designed both for individuals who have been appointed as leader mentor facilitators or as their service unit leader mentor coordinator. Coordinators will receive outlines and tips for sharing what they learn with others. #4720; 2:30-4:30 p.m.
