Brownies will earn one of the following try-its and then take a mini-mission simulated spaceflight aboard the SS Observer at the Challenger Learning Center. Learn about Earth and Space all in one day at the George Observatory Challenger Learning Center!

Junior Overnight Programs
Juniors arrive on Friday to earn a badge, look through telescopes (weather permitting) and take a night hike around Creekfield Lake. On Saturday morning, they will have the opportunity to take a simulated space flight aboard the SS Observer at the Challenger Learning Center. Girls will need to bring simple no-cook snacks and breakfast. Don’t miss out on this cool adventure. It’s out this world!

Bites, stings, & itches

Learn about summer outdoor hazards, including poison ivy, venomous snakes, and dangerous arthropods, and how to avoid them or treat their effects.

Who: All ages of Girl Scouts, friends, families

Tour the Girl Scout Center

A trained docent will guide troops through the history of GSSJC as they tour the center at 3110 Southwest Freeway. Visits include viewing and discussing GSSJC’s collection of Girl Scout memorabilia throughout the building; participating in a scavenger hunt in the Goodykoontz library and memorabilia room; and learning about Juliette Low’s life and interests through the Golden Eaglet, an old fashioned silent movie. Juniors will complete a portion of Girl Scouting in the USA Badge.

When: Tours are two hours long and offered on Monday
10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
