Take Note, the GSSJC Choir, has been busy
this year singing the national anthem at several events, attending
music workshops, and cheering its favorites at the Sweet Adelines
International Region 10 Quartet and Chorus Contests.
Choir members are looking forward to a full summer of activities
including: a summer music camp on June 18-20, Harmony Sampler
workshop on June 26, singing the National Anthem at sporting
events, and preparing for a busy fall. The fall schedule will
include singing at Girl Scout Day at Six Flags AstroWorld,
a choir retreat, hosting a Council Sunday Sing-a-long in October,
and more.
Choir members are girls from all over the Council in grades
7-12. The choir is directed by Beth Watkins and assisted by
Sally Ison and Karla Fenton. The choir holds monthly rehearsals
at the Girl Scout Center, usually from 3 to 5 p.m. on the
second Sunday of the month. There are no rehearsals in July
