Membership Development Conference 2004

A special event for adult volunteers and staff, the annual Membership Development Conference (MDC) is a weekend of fun, information and learning opportunities. All that is new and exciting for the new membership year in Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council is represented in its entirety through
the department booths and workshops. MDC offers delicious meals and a potpourri of activities to meet every interest. “Membership” of course is the focus of this fantastic event.
At a time when many people feel overwhelmed by the problems and challenges facing children and adolescents, hundreds of communities across the country are discovering new energy in working toward a positive vision for young people. At the heart of this vision is the Search Institute’s research-based framework of “ 40 developmental assets” – factors that are critical for young people’s successful growth and development. These are positive experiences, opportunities, and personal qualities that all children and adolescents from many cultural backgrounds need, enabling them to be responsible, successful and caring.
The Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets will be this year’s focus at MDC 2004.
