THE COLLECTORS BADGE OR COLLECTING INTEREST PATCH
at a free seminar for Junior, Cadette, and Senior Girl Scouts
which is held at the Money Show of the Southwest. The seminar
begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 24 at the Greenspoint
Expo Center, 12300 I-45 North at Beltway 8 in Houston. Girl
Souts must wear a membership pin or uniform or bring a membership
card to qualify. Girls will receive a special Girl Scout quarter
upon completion of the seminar. To reserve your spot call
281-586-9727. Admission to the Money Show is $2 for ages 13
and older and includes a state quarter and quarter board.
Girls can participate in a free treasure hunt and auction
and visit booths at the show.

put together 2,364 brochures.

WRITERS NEEDED Are you a teen Girl Scout who is interested
in sharing your thoughts with others? Have you written creative
stories but don’t know where to submit them to have
them published? Your content is needed for an upcoming Senior
Times newsletter which will be published online this spring.
You can write about anything that interests teen girls like
yourself. Send your stories by February 1 to sengelke@sjgs.org

SET, GO WINNERS Congratulations to the three winners
of the drawing for new administrators who completed their
Ready, Set, Go trainings by the end of October 2003. Pamela
Carr from Tannybo Service Unit has chosen to receive a $50
gift certificate to the Girl Scout Shop. Karen Dupont from
Smile S’More Service Unit has decided to use her $50
dollars towards her troop’s camp fee for its next camping
trip. Jamie Pierce from Hummingbird Way has chosen to receive
a $50 gift certificate to a bookstore.

INSERTS FOR GIRL SCOUT SABBATH AND SUNDAY Religious
inserts are available for pick up at the front desk at the
Girl Scout Center during regular business hours. These inserts
are perfect for placing in church and synagogue bulletins
or passing out on Girl Scout Sunday and Sabbath in March or
any other time of the year. Call 713-292-0300 to reserve copies.
Inserts are available while supplies last.
FAMILY CAMPING
Families can travel to Garrison, near Nacogdoches, to go swimming,
canoeing, hiking, star gazing, or relax at our Council’s
Camp Whispering Pines. Cost is only $20 per cabin for the entire

HOUSTON Girl Scout Carolyn of Home School Troop #11190
encourages every Girl Scout to help put Houston on top by
participating in this easy service project.
Campbell’s Chunky soup has teamed up with the NFL to
Tackle Hunger by donating up to a total of 5 million cans
of Campbell’s soups to various hunger relief charities.
All you do is visit www.chunky.com and click on the Click
for Cans icon, then click on your favorite NFL team helmet.
One vote per email address is allowed per day. In the Houston
area, soup will be donated to America’s Second Harvest
food bank, which includes the Houston Food Bank and various
other food-rescue organizations.
