2004 EST Day Honorary Chair Carol Lienhard

Learn about Carol in her own words…
“Now is the time for young girls to study math and science. Girls can comprehend any subject they really want to understand, and should take the hardest courses they can find.
Nothing should stop you from excelling. Get the power that an education will give you. Set no limits on yourself. If not you, who? Although I studied math and science in high school and college, I was a violin performance major. Astronomy, geology, physiology, statistics, and chemistry were some courses I took; however, I never learned enough math.
When my husband John started writing episodes for his radio show Engines of Our Ingenuity (locally on KUHF 88.7 FM), I got involved, not as an expert, but as one who read a lot. I have learned from it and keep the attitude that science can be understood by anyone, through simple and clear explanations.”
