Financial in partnership with the National Association of
Secondary School Principals sponsor this unique opportunity
to honor young people for outstanding volunteer service. These
awards are offered to middle level and high school youth volunteers.
The program is supported by National 4-H Council, Girl Scouts
of the USA, Camp Fire USA, American Red Cross, the Points
of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National network,
YMCA of the USA and many other national organizations.
Every
year at the end of October, the application is due to the
sponsoring agency. Based on the membership in each of the
age categories, the agency can nominate one. |

more candidates to progress to the next level. This year,
Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council nominated two Senior Girl
Scouts to compete at the state level.
Rebecca,
a Senior Girl Scout in Troop #5424 and GSUSA Gold Award Candidate,
and Allison, a Senior Girl Scout in Troop #1200 and received
her GSUSA Gold Award in May 2003.
Their
applications highlighted projects of importance to them: Rebecca’s
on her experience through Riding Unlimited, a therapeutic
horsemanship program for handicapped children and Allison’s
on her increasing community awareness of the needs and the
opportunity to adopt pets from shelters.

3, 104 state honorees and 236 distinguished finalists will
