SPANISH WEB SITE Girl Scouts of the USA has launched a Girl Scout Spanish Web site. “This is truly a meaningful step in our work with the Hispanic community and for the first time gives us a national online presence - En Espanol. The Spanish Web site will help us reach out to the growing Hispanic community that is on the Web and show our continued and very real commitment to diversity,” said Kathy Cloninger, GSUSA executive director. LAND’S END OFFERS UNIFORMS FOR GIRL SCOUT ADULTS Uniform pieces that are available are: short and long sleeved polos, supima tee, turtleneck, mock turtleneck, fleece crewneck, and chino pants or shorts. Call 1-877-312-1767 for information.

KID ZONE The Houston Bar Association has developed a new section on its Web site that provides information on law-related topics for children, teens, parents and educators. KidZone was designed to present a variety of relevant information in a concise format. The “Legal Education” section includes information on juvenile law, local curfew laws, the Texas court structure, law as a career and a legal dictionary, as well as a link to law-related lesson plans for teachers. Under “Safety Tips,” viewers will find information on abduction prevention, Internet safety, substance abuse, hotlines and peer mediation. BEAR NECESSITIES is a emergency supply room for abused and neglected children of Harris County. It supplies items to children under the care of Children’s Protective Services (CPS). Girl Scout troops can help by organizing supply drives. BEAR is in need of hygiene products, diapers, formula, clothing, cleaning supples, car seats, towels, blankets, and “birthdays in a box.” Contact BEAR at 713-940-3087.
